Camping in Birch Bay - Maybe try the Hostel.
Camping at the Birch Bay Hostel takes a different twist. No tents but the large park near the water gives the feeling of being in camp. Sitting by the campfire and cooking on the barbeque or coleman stove isn't a problem.
The Good news is you can tuck yourself into a clean and well made bed, take a hot shower and make you expresso in the morning. Some are calling it camping for those that don't want to tent anymore. I
We met many this weekend that were looking for camping spots here in Birch Bay and Blaine. They are all full.
This weekend in Birch Bay Camping is big. With Canada day on Friday and The Fourth of July on Monday the two countries come together and celebrate.
Fireworks in Birch Bay is Huge with the sky lit up from June 29 til July 5. There are fireworks stands on the beach or you can go to the nearby Lummi Nation and purchase fireworks there.
The local restaurants and bars do well this weekend. With the C shop having long lineups from the time they open til they close. The Bay Cafe is equally as busy. The Shores and CJ are all busy.
And if you are looking for characters for your next book, take a wander into Bobby Dry Dock. Facinating place where you can converse with some real people. Don't be surprised when the waitress greets you with a cigarette and a cute white, black and brown dog gives you a hand wash while you listen to music in the outdoor Cantina. Bikers are welcome and pull tabs are everywhere.
The Prime Rib at CJ's some of the best to be found.
Birch Bay State Park has a large campground and it has been full since Friday.
We are family orientated and Alcohol & Drug Free. Drum Circle on Thursday. Local Artists paint the walls and halls. Local Musicians may be around to entertain and if you want to try drumming go for it, no one will mind.
